Global Good Agricultural Practices
GLOBALGAP is a certificate that indicates the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P.) in crop farms to ensure food safety. Within this framework, important elements are mentioned for the development of a global production standard for agricultural products. GLOBALGAP distinguishes Major Musts, Minor Musts, and Recommendations. The certificate is awarded to the grower after an independent audit by a recognized institution. GLOBALGAP also supports the principles of HACCP. Nicolaï Fruit only works with fruits and vegetables from GLOBALGAP-recognized crop farms.
IFS: International Food Standard
IFS is an international standard that originated in 2002 (Germany). Food safety systems are inspected in a uniform way. This way, buyers, retailers, or retail can have confidence in the product with peace of mind. Nicolai also uses an HACCP plan since 2002. This preventive analysis guarantees food safety by systematically controlling the risk points during the production and handling of food.

Autocontrole FAVV: Federaal Agentschap voor de Veiligheid van de Voedselketen
The Autocontrol AGF Trade & Processing Guide is a practical sector-level conversion of the KB 14/11/2003 on Autocontrol, Traceability & Reporting Obligations. Companies that apply this Guide comply with the legislation. The document was developed by the trade federations Belgapom, Fresh Trade Belgium, and Vegebe in collaboration with Ghent University. In order to demonstrate that the implementation of the Guide on the shop floor is not a dead letter, companies can have themselves audited and certified by external control organizations (OCIs) or have their system validated by the FAVV.
